ABOUT ALLISON

Allison spent her childhood in Lake Tahoe, Nevada and later moved to the Seattle area with her family. Growing up, Allison experienced extreme waves of anxiety, washing over her like a blanket of dry ice, frozen but burning. She felt most at peace when outside amongst the snow covered trees or playing with her mother's special needs clients. As she searched for this peaceful feeling elsewhere (seasons do change!) she eventually found yoga. Through a practice of yoga and meditation, Allison discovered a feeling of unwavering peace within. Her practice continues to develop and evolve as life ebbs and flows.

Allison is passionate about supporting others on their journey to become their best selves. Her mission is ignite feelings of joy, inspiration, passion, and presence in children and families through movement, play, and connection.

PRIVATE YOGA SESSION

Shortly after grad school, Allison flew to Bali, Indonesia to pursue her passion of yoga and meditation, completing her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Certification with Yoga Beyond and Adam Whiting.

Allison uniquely blends together her passions of mobility practices, yoga postures (asana), breath techniques (pranayama), and meditation.

Allison would be honored to lead you through your practice. All levels are welcome.

Individual instruction allows for specific in-depth alignment/pose clarification and adjustments that you may not receive in a class. You do not need to be flexible or strong to engage in yoga, all you need is a willingness to give it a shot!  In private yoga sessions, Allison will arrange a time with you to come to your home or office and guide you through a yoga practice created for you and your needs. The sessions can be 45-90 minutes long, your choice! Classes can incorporate restorative/stretching postures, standing and balancing postures, heart openers and backbends, inversions, and breathing and meditation. And if you are lucky she will lull you with her steel drum!

Classes are offered at a sliding scale. Please contact below if you are interested.

THE SAFE AND SOUND PROTOCOL

Allison is trained in administering the Safe and Sound Protocol. She continues to see transformational changes in individual's lives (children and adults) from this intervention.

Developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is a five-day auditory intervention designed to reduce stress and auditory sensitivity while enhancing social engagement and resilience. Based on Dr. Porges’ Polyvagal Theory, by calming the physiological and emotional state, the door is opened for improved communication and more successful therapy.

The SSP is a research-based therapy showing significant results in just five days in the following areas:

  • Social and emotional difficulties

  • Auditory sensitivities

  • Anxiety and trauma related challenges

  • Inattention

  • Stressors that impact social engagement
